Education Equals Freedom
In today’s information bombarded society, it is still surprising that uneducated choices are made regarding financial spending. Financial education is vital in the process of staying debt free. Unfortunately, many people fall into the debt trap with a loan or credit card that gets out of control. It can happen quickly. It seems to be easier to lose money than to keep it.
Wealth vs. Status
People have a tendency to become status driven. We want a better house, a nice car, and a great job. It is the norm to keep up with the best neighbors. This is when debt can begin to take over. Spending takes place without thinking of the consequences. It is so easy to get what you want. You just have to make a phone call or go online and you have what your heart desires. Status steals wealth and creates debt.
The Paper Battle
Paper leaves a trail of destruction. When budgeting we work everything out carefully, but in reality it is distorted by everyday occurrences like accidents, medical emergencies, etc. On paper the calculations are perfect, but not in the real world. Budget battles are won and lost on a scrap of paper. This is why those who live below their means do well in financially stressful situations. They can pay for the emergency and not worry about money at that stressful time.
Fix It Quick
The fact is that there’s no quick solution to solving debt problems. Only determination and the ability to realize a problem exists will help. Get financially educated and fast. Read books; go on personal and professional financial courses/seminars; buy games; do whatever it takes to become money-wise. This will help in making sound financial choices in ones personal and professional life. Financial education chances the quality of life. Aim to become debt free. Many institutions have free classes on finances, and some even have classes that you can take online.
Make The Choice
The change starts when the first step towards financial education is taken. Reading books will open your eyes to possibilities other than debt. Organizations dedicated in educating the public about financial matters are run by the government. Financial games are fun and easy to learn. The best advice anyone can give a friend is to stay away from debt, but in real life that is not possible or practical. Make sure you know the difference between good and bad debt. Become debt free with the right choice.
